Here are some frequently asked questions about the upcoming deadline and delisting for SSL V5.1 & LUNA V1.0.
What is the deadline to submit update applications?
October 9, 2026, is the deadline for submitting applications to update SSL V5.1 and LUNA V1.0 products to SSL V6.0 and LUNA V2.0.
We’ve created a guide for manufacturers and test labs to clarify the qualification and submission process.
What happens on December 15?
After December 15, 2026, all products that have not been updated to SSL V6.0 or LUNA V2.0 will be delisted. Products within update applications that are open (under review) will be relisted once completed. Why is the delisting important? Some energy efficiency programs do not accept delisted products for incentive applications.
If I submit by October 9, will the product stay listed?
We expect to complete the review for update applications received by October 9 before December 15, so these products should remain listed without interruption. This is not a guarantee, however. Applications submitted in haste without all of the necessary information from the submitter will likely require multiple conversations to complete the update. The single largest driver of delays is slow or no responses to reviewer comments and questions. If this occurs, the application will be delayed and may not be complete by the delisting date, December 15. If a review isn’t completed by December 15, the product may be temporarily delisted and relisted once the review is finished.
Can I still submit update applications after October 9?
Yes, but applications received after October 9 will be reviewed in the same manner as new product applications. That means submitting all necessary test reports and documentation, and all new application fees will apply. These applications will be reviewed after those submitted by October 9, so the products are very likely to be delisted on December 15 while they await review.
Will the product’s information be lost if it’s delisted?
No. Delisted products remain viewable on the Qualified Products List (QPL) using the “Delisted” filter. Once an update application is reviewed and approved, the product will be listed again.
Will delisted products still be eligible for incentives?
Most DLC member programs have indicated that they intend to provide a grace period for products listed under SSL V5.1. For information about specific cutoffs, please contact the relevant utility or incentive program directly. The QPL will also display the version history of each product to show its previous listings.
How can I avoid a disruption in a product listing?
Submit your update application as early as possible, and no later than October 9. Review our Common Applications Errors Guide to avoid mistakes in your application.
