ACEEE Summer Study: 2030 Goals Require Long Term Energy Efficiency Plans that Specify Networked Lighting Controls
The DLC, CLEAResult, Evergreen Consulting Group, and NV5 published a paper as part of the 2024 ACEEE Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Buildings. The authors were Levin Nock, Kyle Hemmi, Lauren Morlino, Matthew Socks, and Stuart Berjansky. This paper explains the significant and cost-effective energy savings possible when networked lighting controls (NLC) are integrated with building HVAC systems. The research describes additional non-energy benefits and decarbonization benefits as well. The paper presents common challenges for utilities in implementing integration rebates and proposes program design solutions to address them.
