New DLC Draft Policy: Second Draft Networked Lighting Controls Technical Requirements V4.0
Apr 22, 2019The DLC is pleased to release the second draft of Networked Lighting Controls (NLC) Technical Requirements V4.0 for public comment through the stakeholder input process.
Version 4.0 focuses on strengthening the value of NLC technology while addressing important issues for market acceptance. Based on comments received on Draft 1, the second draft includes updates on:
- Cybersecurity – the practice of defending networked systems and data from malicious attacks.
- Energy Monitoring – the capability of a system to report the energy consumption of a luminaire and/or a group of luminaires.
- Interoperability – the capability of lighting and/or building systems or components to connect to one another and function in a defined and appropriate manner.
With new language for these focus areas, the DLC aims to further accelerate the adoption and energy savings potential of networked lighting controls.
