Do You Qualify?

DLC QPL Subscribers will use the DOE ENERGY STAR Manufacturer's Guide for Qualifying
SSL V 2.1 as a platform for their process, described herein, to qualify eligible products.

If your product fits any of the ENERGY STAR categories, DO NOT submit data and apply to be eligible for the DesignLights Consortium® Qualified Products List; rather proceed with the ENERGY STAR process Energy Star for SSL. Please refer to your local utility company’s Program Administrator for use of their program.

If your product DOES NOT fit into a product category where there is NOT YET an ENERGY STAR category or label available, products may be eligible to apply to be listed on the DesignLights® Consortium Qualified Products List (DLC QPL). The summary of Technical Requirements Table lists a summary of SSL products and luminaire categories that may be supported by members in 2009 & 2010. Required product information is based on the Technical Requirements Table.

Manufacturers going through the DLC process will find this process requiring similar product information as the DOE ENERGY STAR SSL program did. ENERGY STAR does not cover the same categories as DLC QPL. As ENERGY STAR SSL program takes on additional categories (ones that may already be covered on the DLC QPL), the DLC QPL will drop this category. This is one of the reasons why ENERGY STAR and the DesignLights Consortium® Qualified Products List are working in cooperation with one another.
